Natural Law of Loss
Move it or lose it…
When I set goals, I usually think about what I want to GAIN or ADD to my life. I think it’s a pretty healthy way to look at things, don’t you? But what I often find is that the DESIRE I have for those gains isn’t always enough to actually GAIN what I want.
So I thought to myself, “how can I fix this?”.
That’s when I remembered the Natural Law of Loss. There was no “healthy fear” motivating me. If I didn’t gain what I was going for than the worst thing that happens is I stay comfortable in where I am. That’s often not enough to move me forward. When I look at what I’ll lose if I don’t “do something” though, it challenges my status quo. It motivates me to move. If I don’t, I might end up “worse off” than I am now.
When thinking about your goals, think about what you’ll “lose” if you don’t achieve them.
Keep that in mind as you pursue those goals daily. Then you’ll find yourself not resting on your status quo and achieving MORE OF WHAT YOU WANT. If you stay still you don’t necessarily “lose”…but do you win?
