The Natural Law of the PLATINUM RULE
What should we really “do unto others”?
We’ve all heard the “Golden Rule”: Treat other people the way you want to be treated. This is a great foundation for treating people with basic human decency. However, if you really want to impact others and get results, then you have to look beyond that.
Remember: Not everyone wants to be treated how you want to be treated…
The Golden Rule asks us to put our life experiences on others and treat them in a way that we would like to be treated. It doesn’t take into account what that person’s experiences are, how they react, and what they really want. To get the best results when working with others, it’s important to treat them in ways that resonate with them!
So, do unto others as they would like to be done unto!
When I interact with others throughout the week, whether it be in a meeting or at a dinner, I need to remember that they have a specific way they want to be treated…and it may not be what I want! Each day this week, I am committed to focus on who I am with and what they want and act accordingly.
Will you make this same commitment?
Use the PLATINUM RULE to guide you this week. Are you treating other people from the lens of what you want OR are you treating people from the lens of what they want? Use your audience’s wants to guide you and watch your relationships become more and more productive. As always, shoot me an email at Maria@LifePlanner.guru to share your stories using the Natural Law of the Platinum Rule. For more information on Natural Laws, visit www.StevenJAnderson.com.
